Interview with Clyo Mouchel

Kiteboard Journal: When and how did you discover this spot?
Clyo Mouchel: I’m from the area, so I’ve been coming here since I was a kid. This is home to me!

KBJ: What advice would you give to someone visiting for the first time?
CM: Head straight to Kite-R Evolution—you’ll find all the information you need about the spot, the protected Natura 2000 areas, and the designated kiting zone in summer. Plus, there’s a bar, a kitesurf school, and facilities like changing rooms and showers for members.

KBJ: How’s the vibe with the locals?
CM: Here in Normandy, we’re friendly—come say hello, and you’ll be warmly welcomed!

KBJ: How do windsurfers and kitesurfers get along?
CM: We’re lucky in Normandy to have wide beaches, and Merville is no exception. There’s plenty of space for everyone, so we don’t get in each other’s way.

KBJ: Any good places to eat or stay near the spot?
CM: You’re spoiled for choice! There are many bars and restaurants along the seafront. For accommodation, we have hotels, bed & breakfasts, and campsites—there’s something for every budget.
